Support for 256 logical processors in SQL Server 2008 R2.

Windows server 2008 R2 Datacentre Edition along with SQL Server 2008 R2 enables you to scale up to 256 logical processors (This is a big improvement over the previous maximum of 64 processors). Which showing in the following snapshot with 64 quad-core CPUs (which gives you 256 cores).

So now you can run your multiple SQL Server tasks in parallel up to 258 (number of Cores +2) tasks very easily and achieve the good parallelism.
